Deliverance

Often we beg God for deliverance, and He sends it. But our eyes are veiled and we fail to see it.

God gave Israel “Deliverance”, but it came in the form of a small babe.

“What” thought they, “surely the government cannot rest on these tiny shoulders.”

They rejected the Cornerstone of their deliverance, because He did not fit their preconceived notions.

“What, my deliverance a small bundle?”

Yet it was, and exceeding, abundantly above deliverance!

But my blindness to it shut down my liquid gratitude, my tears… and I continued bound.
